General Yoga (Hatha)
Our Yoga classes in our Brunswick Yoga Studio achieve balance between body and mind, as well as attempts to free the more subtle spiritual elements of the mind through physical poses, breathing and meditation designed to improve health. The regular practice of Yoga helps to improve muscle flexibility and bone strength, as well as non-physical rewards such as the development of will power and concentration. Breath control is an important element of Yoga. It is believed that the secret to controlling one’s mind can be unlocked by controlling one’s breath.
Yoga + Core (Core Yoga)
Yoga + Core blends the ancient principles of Yoga with the modern precision of Pilates for a dynamic and inspiring class that will strengthen and tone the body, improve posture, reduce tension and build strength in the abdominals and lower back for overall better health and wellbeing. Yoga + Core is suitable for generally fit participants of all ages. This is not suitable for Pre-Natal students or those with existing musculoskeletal injuries.
A slower floor based yoga practice designed to improve flexibility and create a feeling of space within your body. This is a meditative practice with longer holds in each pose, allowing you to sink into the practice and explore the sensations within your body. While this form of yoga is more passive and slower moving, it can also prove to be quite challenging at times! If you are looking for a class that enables you to reset your mind and body while bringing health to your joints and connective tissues then this class is for you. Not suitable for Pre-Natal students.
Ying Yang Yoga
A combination of Hatha and Yin Yoga. This class combines active and passive yoga poses with breath and meditation to create a balance of movement and stillness within the body. This practice is perfect for those looking for something in between flow and rest.
